So Keith's link has funny timing. I spoke with Hagerty yesterday in regards to establishing insurance on my Carryall. I was asked what I was going to use my truck for by the representative and I mentioned that I was going to drive it around town and go to the occasional Rally or show and camp for the weekend. The guy then said, "ohh, no, we can't do that". I said what do you mean? He said that the truck needs to be stored inside overnight and that I can't go camping with it. I then said, so what you are saying is that I can't stay in a campground with this truck? And the response was, no. And you certainly can't tow anything or haul anything with it.

He then said that, actually, simply going to Home Depot and throwing 2x4s or bags of mulch in the back would be considered "hauling" and would not be covered if anything happened.

So I called around to several other insurance companies for these collector vehicles and they all had the same thing to say... that recently, they've all changed their policy to where you cannot tow with these trucks! What in the world???

Does anyone have a high dollar policy on their vehicle that allows towing?

I'm currently working with my state farm agent to see if they can write me a custom policy. I'll need appraisals and such for the truck and it might be expensive, but still... seems like nobody wants to insure this thing.
