If you already have a 10k trailer, with brakes, and a minimum 3/4 ton truck with a brake controller, and are going to tow a short distance once in a while, the trailer will do the job. But if you are out to buy one, buy 12k or 14k, for all the reasons Keith mentioned, and then some.
