you need to to a full undercarriage cleaning 2x year on your new iron. I have a shop vac with small crevice tools to go at the body parts that trap dirt. I then go at those same areas with a compressor to blow open the weep passages. I should have had the body undercoated. it used to be a big upsell for dealers in the past. i had considered using some sort of spray on wax or similar to what the land rover guys do. unsure of the benefit though. blame the epa paint requirements. no lead in paint, no vocs, none of the inhibitors that kept the metal from rusting.
