Don't forget, back then we were kids and our backs were the least of our worries. I drove my 55 Chevy many miles and never thought how my back was feeling or that it didn't have air conditioning. Now I could not think of driving it 400 miles to Los Angeles No without air. Our late model cars have very comfortable seats and I still use a lumbar pillow. It's called getting old and my father doesn't recommend it.
