Down thread i asked about what upgrades those of you running 4bts had done to your engine. I was hoping to get some ideas of what worked and what was a waste of time. I did not see anyone who had attempted to dynamically advance the timing on the injection pump.
So today i made up the adapter and just tested the truck.
I am neutral on the results - i need to hit a long hill and see what happens.

Results
(1) engine seems quieter to me - neighbour said as much when i drove by - he had no clue i had been messing with the engine.
(2) I am not sure if there is a loss of torque at the bottom end or not - driving seems different and I am not sure why.
(3) When cold I usually have to shift down into third to get up the hill on a local road - not this time.
(4) there is less black smoke
(5) pyro temps have dropped 100 degrees?
(6) boost is down 3 to 5 lbs

So would I do it again? Not so sure about that, I will test the truck when it is warm and see how it does on one long hill.

as an aside the carryall sure goes faster when the tires are at 34lbs instead of 18lbs. Noticeable enough that I will now air up after a day in the bush and not drive home on the aired down tires.
