Really? They did attach it to the floor? Huh! Live and learn. Its not a cotter pin, it was a screw & nut. The screw had a hole drilled in it for the spring to pass through. The spring broke when I was disconnecting it.
After reading your other post and going over what I've found, I'm beginning to think I may be barking up the wrong tree. Every u-joint I've looked into looks fine. I was expecting to find them in much worse shape than this. Although the wires are mostly rotted away. The insides are shiny new.
Hmph.. We'll see..
