I know in my 1960 W500, they offered the straight six or the 318-3 engine. Don't know about later ones.
Back then there were a lot less options, compared to today.
I've seen some photos of re-powers with a big block, but with the Power Giants (57-60), there are "fitment" issues as the frame is "pinched in" where the engine sits.
