I have been trying to trace the history of the Deluxe Products Corporation of Racine, Wisconsin (previously of La Porte, Indiana. I have not had much luck finding information about the company on the internet. I have run across some speculation that they may have been bought out by Modine, but nothing concrete. The latest catalog I have from Deluxe is from 1965.
I thought I remembered finding a document that stated that Deluxe was bought by Baldwin. But this was a couple of years ago and I can not find it online now. The best I have is a link to a current ebay auction for a Deluxe Clear Oil filter that states right on the box that it was manufactured for them by Baldwin.
In any case, my research has resulted in learning that Baldwin was bought by CLARCOR in 1981 and that CLARCOR also owns Clark filters, Hastings Filters, and Purolator filters among others. As of 2/28/17, CLARCOR has become part of Parker Hannifin.
Anyone near Racine have any inside information on when Deluxe ceased to exist and whether or not they were actually absorbed by Baldwin?
