I talked to Midwest, where I bought the tank and sender from. He thought that it was possibly gas coming through the screw threads. He said that M37s have lead washers under the screw heads on similar parts. I tend to agree, so I posed the question of thread leaking gas to the local auto parts shop. We have a second generation owned auto parts store here in Anacortes. They didn't hesitate and pointed me to some Permitex product. #2? "This is what you want."

So, I'm giving it a try. We'll see if it works.

Currently adding fuel filter to my inlet fuel line. I'm still getting grit through my fuel system and the XA-1 carb on here seems very susceptible to any sort of grit in the fuel. I'm getting to the point I where I could tear one down and re-assemble it blindfolded.
