When I bought my 2006 Mega Cab, I was afraid to put a scratch in it because it was such a nice truck, and first new vehicle I ever bought. 430 miles later someone had already backed into it, dented the bumper, left a fake phone number, and there was my new dented truck. That was a great thing for me, from that point forward I have been able to enjoy USING my truck. My dad warned me that the first dent and scratch would be the most painful, no matter how insignificant. That being said, every dent and scratch in it now (non are horrendous) has a story of a use, of an event, of a trip, or of cargo. I see this as the scars we develop as human beings also. We tend to all give a personality to our vehicles, and somewhat our restorations are somewhat child like to us; we made them, we love them, we don't want to see them harmed. But also, they need to live a life too. A sheltered truck is a sheltered child; it has no stories to share and you've none as it weathers either. I like the mention of putting plywood in the bed or wrapping the truck as well. What I am trying to say, is don't worry the scratches, you fixed them all once so you or the next person can do it again.

In regards to the attention, my plan for my WC53 is to create some little spec cards that I can just hand to people and say, here.. here is some basic info, there is an instagram tag on there, I really would like to talk but I have to get going, and drive away. IF they are still interested, they can find you; if not... not your concern at that point. Afterall, it is your truck, your life and your timeline don't feel bad about excusing yourself and heading on your way.

Also, I already reserved my custom tag for my truck... "ITSA 42" ha ha
