Just signed a contract to take down an old barn. Started on it Saturday. I logged in to tell you guys about it, and here you are already talking about barn removal.

This one suffered major storm damage some years ago and has been slowly deteriorating since.
Farmer said his grandparents used to hold square dances in it back in the day. He inherited the farm when they passed on and kept some of the original buildings up, but the barn was too big to fix after the storm.
It has 14 30' posts over a limestone and rock foundation. There are several pullies and a stationary hoist that still functions.
He said they raised chickens in the loft, and dairy cattle, pigs, and horses down below.
We've cleaned out most of the fallen timbers and steel roofing. There are piles of stacked lumber in the loft that are coming out next and going to storage for now. Lots of gates and sliding doors in it.
Lots of trees to take down yet before we get to the actual disassembly process, but we're making headway..
And no, there wasn't an old Dodge in it, either. But I was hoping ..
