In short, YES. In reality, not so much. The bead geometry is different and the "modern rim" only covers about half of the bead. Due to the shape, seating them is difficult.

I have a set on my 78 F350 which is my wood hauler and sees a top speed of maybe 50mph. Use a liberal amount of tire lube and go easy on pressure. 2 of them slid into place after sitting for half an hour or so, the other 2 held air but would not seat the bead, I ended up putting them on the truck and very slowly driving back and forth in the pasture and they finally seated.

Not recommended and not "safe" but Ive not had any concerns since I mounted them up last fall.
