Hey Tim, my Dana 44 is a 1964 8 lug PWTW, so don't know if this will be of help. The vent is on a flat pad, top on the drivers side of the pumpkin right behind the top bolt of the front cover. It has a little cap on it. If you're planning on going through water or mud, you might consider a hose fitting with a small remote filter up near the top of the radiator.
