I had the pleasure of meeting Michael tonight and checking out the #12 truck.
I examined the bed rail extension that you had expressed interest in.

Although the rail extension is now loose it did not leave the factory that way. It was originally part of the bedside wall. The stake pocket hole was stamped out leaving the rail extension attached in the rear by about 3/8" or 1/2" of connection to the bedside. It was attached in the front by 3 spot welds on the inside of the stake pocket.

While this design will hold up well for pictures, it is not tough enough to hold up to the abuse that people put their Power Wagons through. I think that just standing on it or leaning a heavy load on it and then hitting some bumps while driving is enough to break this piece off. I think its weakness may be the reason the factory discontinued this design.
