Hi Kaegi,
The big difference between the 1941 5 speed you show and the later 48 and up 5 speed is the top cover and shift tower. The 41 tranny has the shift tower more in the center of the top cover whereas the later 48 and up tranny had the shift tower way forward , just like all the 48 and later 4 speed Trannys. I have a 1950 4 speed tranny out of a 1.5 ton PH Dodge which I am going to install in my WC-12. The case mounts right up to my WC Bellhousing. Being that the shift tower is forward as stated before, I will have to maybe cut a little section of the metal floorboard out. Also the parking brake mounting ears on this tranny are set forward and center on the right side of the cover instead of center and rear of the cover as in the WC 4 speed tranny. Think it will work though. I will be using a spare floorboard since I always want to keep the original stuff around in case I ever want to switch back.
I would love to install one of those 5 speed boxes in my WC, but I would need the matching bellhousing and I don't know if with the longer 5 speed in there ithe small Tranny to TC shaft would still fit or most likely have to be shortened.
