The "horizontal" toothed gears are usually referred to as "spur" gears. The later gears that "slant: are referred to as "helical" gears. You will have to find the correct pto for you transmission. "Rebuilding" the old pto with helical gears is not a possibility, as far as I am aware. But....I've been wrong before....
