So this begs the question - was this belt pulley also purchased after the truck, necessitating the need for it to be shipped with the protective cover? Or, were all belt pulleys that came with the truck included loose in the truck, unmounted, and protected by a cover? If so, a lot of the covers apparently got discarded over the years.

It would be interesting to find a service bulletin that directs the owner to install the protective cover on the pulley when it is to be removed from the truck and put into storage.
