I suspect it is narrower. that would explain some of the differences in the steering box placement and clutch pedal.
Also, If you think about where the front tires would hit the springs in a tight turn, the M37 frame rails and springs would have to be closer together, or you would lose turning radius.
Civilian fenders would look too wide on an M37 unless you filled the fenders with wide tires. The cab would hang over the frame farther-just like an M37, and you would have less running board sticking out pas the cab-just like and M37.
