Hydraboost Appears to Not be Working for Brakes

The shop working on my WDX today said they could barely stop my truck although they were standing on the brake pedal and were surprised when I told them the truck has a new hydratech unit (well, new 8 years ago but not tested until today) along with Suiter's conversion to power steering(reverse saginaw) and power disc brakes front and back.. The power steering must be working as I was told a big difference in steering occurred when the engine died. What do I tell the shop to do to diagnose and then fix the problem? Paul and others please weigh in.
