I'm 98% positive its brass, I used to help my grandfather tear apart things for the copper, brass, aluminum and so on as a kid in the early 70's its yellowish like brass, not reddish like the bronze I have seen. I have wondered if it was a replacement swapped in from something else, looks just like my 62 though.
