Below is a link to where I buy Baldwin JC405 filters a case at a time.

The current Wix 51011 (Suppliers of the NAPA 1011) is actually a better replacement for the larger Deluxe CU and CS filters. My 1956 Wix Weatherly Index 660 lists the Deluxe JC at 4" diameter and 5-9/16" in height. The same Index lists the Deluxe CU at 4-1/4" diameter and 5-5/8 in height.

I have collected a lot of old filters. The Deluxe JC (Suppliers of the MoPar 676 575), and a whole host of those marketed by competitors as a replacement for the JC were all uniform in size at right around 4" diameter and 5-9/16 in height. As you have found in your diligent research Todd, it was not until recently that Wix tried save money by consolidating several sizes into one filter. Of course, by then most of the other filter manufactures had already quite making a replacement for the JC.

The only currently Made In the USA replacement for the JC that I know of is the Baldwin.

Attached is an image of a new Baldwin JC405 on the left. In the middle is a Deluxe JC dating from the early 1940's. To the right is a Deluxe CU also dating from the 1940's.

But before anyone goes out and buys a new filter from any source, we should verify exactly who made the canister that they are trying to fill. I currently have Deluxe, Wix, Purolator, Fram, and Hastings catalogs from the time period our trucks were produced. I can quickly tell from good photographs if the canister on the truck is a Deluxe or not. Most were, but there is always that exception.
