I don't know much either but when I was looking at casting new hubs for PW disk brakes I researched lots about pattern making and design. so you see how they squeeze lots of parts on a board. My biz partner has built a couple patterns as well for some other hot rod stuff. its interesting stuff. you can have your sand molds 3d printed now. a bit spendy but worth it for prototyping on certain projects.
