I have 77' M-886 that was converted into an armorers maintainence vehicle for the marine MP'S in Ft.Irwin Ca. It has a troop heater installed in the rear that connects to fuel lines from the gas tank, with deer season starting 2 days from now here in Michigan, I thought it would be nice to actually have heat in the troop compartment, (this is where things get a little scary) I did research in 4 different manuals on CD concerening the heater, well after replacing all the dry-rotted gas lines, installing a new exhaust pipe , blowing the dust out of the unit,& checking the operation of the fuel pump, I felt confident that it should start & run( of course it didnt) I dissasembled the fuel inlet at the burner, which just happened to be fine, took the burner further apart & dislodged some goo from an internal part, put the heater back together & fired it up! It coughed a little, blew some black smoke and proceeded to kick-out alot of heat! I left it run for about 3 minutes( while standing close with a fire extuingisher) & then I turned it off & checked fuel lines for leakage. in the mean time grey smoke started pouring from the burner unit & air intakes, The question I am trying to ask in a roundabout way, is this does any-body out there know anything about these heaters,& does any-one know where to get parts/manuals for said unit?

Thanks in advance Todd
