I had a 55 Chieftain also. It had been in the family for years. Circumstances forced me to sell it (Stupidity). It was a great car. 4 sp auto and it would go anywhere. My dad used me for clearing fallen branches from logging trails on family outings. It was really built tough. I still miss it.
