Calculating driveshaft length

I need to build a rear driveshaft on my crew cab. Shaft was missing when I got it. Question is: How much spline is usually showing at rest on slide joint? Truck is w200, shaft will be approximately 66" long total length. I'm guessing about 2/3 of spline should be pushed in, leaving 1/3 exposed. Thanks
