As some of you may know, I'm piecing my '48 Flat fender back together that someone else took apart! I've got the wood bed figured out (Many thanks to Larry Hoenig!) but now that I've got the bed sitting on the frame (sides and front only with bottom rear brace, no wood or tailgate yet) I can't figure out what holds the bed on the frame!! Drive down the road, and the first good bump will launch the bed off the frame! I can't believe the five strips down the wood are suppose to hold the whole bed on! Nothing is lining up! The fenders line up with the back of the running boards (not bolted together yet) the spare tire holder is in its little grove, but there are no bolt wholes that line up with the frame or crossmembers!!! (Some brace thing on the sides rusted/cut off?) Very frustrating working for three hours and getting nowhere! Shop manuals I have, haven't been to helpful either on the bed questions. HELP, "DODGE BROTHERS"!
