Since your starting from the frame up, make a mockup, lower half of the cab out of cardboard to make sure you get accurate measurements and know any alterations will fit.
Next I'd find an OD tranny and use and adapterplate (if necessary)and machine work (if necessary) to adapt it to the engine. After that you might have to relocate the original tranfercase to the rear, enough so the original short shaft will still work. Hopefully the front and rear driveshafts can be shortened and lengthened to the same size.
While your at it try the rear cab support method that lets it pivot,in the center-rear of the cab.
The narrow frame will always be a booger when it comes to a V-8 conversion ,especially with a hemi or BB mopar engine. Personally, I'd sell the hemi and go with a 440 from a truck that ran a manual tranny then try to find a NP540OD.
The 440 will smoke the hemi and be easier to work on and find parts for but, this is your project so, MoPar to ya.
