There is a drawback to installing a Microlock. If you forget to release the microlock and try to take off with the vehicle in low range enough torque can be generated to snap drive line components! I have a microlock on the shelf that I personally removed from a friends truck years ago after we had replaced a twisted off front axel shaft on his 68W100. He had been out four wheeling with the truck in low range, he stopped, set the microlock and left the vehicle. Upon returning to the vehicle, he jumped in, started the engine and popped the trans into grandma low and let out the clutch. A resounding bang was heard and the vehicle crept forward, he realized what he had done and released the microlock, only to discover that his for wheel drive was now non functional. The drum brakes on the front wheels had got a better grip on the drums than the rears, which resulted in a twisted off front axel. Luckily there was enough slippage in the rear drum brakes to allow the vehicle to creep forward or we would have been replacing other driveline components.---Thanks Gary
