I don't understand how a CV joint would help you in this case. For instance, when you install a CV joint in the rear driveshaft, you must change the pinion angle so that the pinion is directly in line with the driveshaft. In the case of the intermediate shaft, you have very little freedom to change the input or output angle. The only way that you could use a CV joint would be to use one on either end of the shaft and this is also a no-no with the double cardan type joints. If I am mis-understanding what you meant than please correct me.
