50k miles sounds awful high for a '49 :)
I picked up a '50 B-2 (speedo said 23k) out of a junk yard for $400 (my wife still claims it was $700), repaired all the rust, new paint, tires, glass, and replaced the moldings/emblems/& hood ornament. Drove the truck for a year & sold it for $3,500 - 5 years ago. It's always nice to get 'em cheap, but the less work it needs the easier it is to stomach spending a little more. Good Luck! Guys on this forum are top shelf, even the cantankerous ones :)
