I've never seen anything with Teflon although all the newer trucks have Teflon buttons at the ends of each leaf to make a quieter ride.
I can tell you first hand that I powder coated & applied a thin layer of grease between each leaf on the Orange 49 I restored & the ride was so far superior that I've done every spring pack on every job I've done since.
At the time, I had folks telling me the same thing but in typical fashion, I wasn't listening :) I'm glad I didn't because I'm telling you...the ride is night & day better. The Orange truck has never seen a load of any kind since it was finished but I have lots of trucks that have & I'd never do it any other way.
