Guess it depends on what you mean by extensive. What I did was on the link below. My cover ended up being pretty fancy but the cab modifications were fairly minimal. Now building it all wasn't the simplest thing. Biggest downside has been the length/position of the pivots. I used the factory location and the pivot location means a very short arm at kind of an odd angle.
They work well and are plenty strong but not the smoothest wipe across the window, more tweaking may be required.
Willy N had a different setup with fairly minimal cab mods too. I ended up using the arms he used as they were nicer than the old Jeep ones and use a more secure and modern wiper attachment method.
