Ok, let me stir everyone up again. Lets say red line is 4200rpm, you can cruse at 60% redline, that means your "high speed driving" is 2520rpm. The more rpm, the hotter the exhaust valve will become. Since your at the top end for cruising for your engine, I would add the additional .002 on the exhaust lash. It's high rpm that affects valve lash due to heat, the hotter the valve gets, the less lash you have, grind on the cam doesn't affect it. Since going for a long trip on a new cam, I would also add a bottle of STP to slowly seat and break in the cam during the trip.
