2 part Epoxy primer is the only thing that's going to last.
There's lots of crap out there, Por15 etc but they're just a bunch of garbage.
Good epoxy primer is easy & I really have no idea why your painter wouldn't have time...it doesn't take any longer than spraying any other paint & forget anything in a spray can.
