You have to assemble the rails in the correct order, reverse rail goes in first. Once it's in tighten the lock screw and fit the new expansion plug and make sure the poppet holds it in the right place, then insert one of the interlock plungers in the drilled passageway above the reverse gearshift rail. Now you can install the third/fourth rail and repeat the procedure, etc.
