that is a style improvement!! in all actuality, a good 2bbl carb is likely better than a 2 1bbl, or 3 1bbl carbs. easier to tune and more efficient. it is all cool stuff. i have a stock 2bbl car manifold for my 230. i had john bizal machine it to accept the stock dodge pivots and attachments for use someday. 2bbl carb, split stock exhaust and internals to include cam, valves springs and balance. stock motor runs so good, i'm only in the parts gathering mode....
