Hey All,

I have long thought about getting an old truck and restoring/modernizing it. Not hot rodding it just in terms of function.

My favorites are Jeeps and old Dodge Pickups. I have a newer JK jeep as my off road and daily driver. I learned to drive in a CJ. That said the only vehicle I ever bought new off the showroom floor was my 90 3/4 ton 4x4 cummins dodge. %.9L engine (less than 150k miles) dana 60s front and rear 4:10s and an LSD. Been parked for a number of years as it needs box work (dodge bodies you know)- small dent behind driver door basically sound but needs brakes windshield and TLC. Thinkin of it as a retirement project. Either redo the box or flat deck it or... (I'm not totally wedded to the 90 dodge body style - I like it but I like others more)

The key question for you - how crazy is it to consider taking the guts from the w250 diesel and putting them into a flat fender (jeep term)power wagon or maybe an old W300 or so. And doin this without getting stupid expensive.

Any opinions appreciated an don't be afraid to say I'm crazy. No offense taken.

TIA.

-Ed-
