The price of PWs has gone through the roof compared to 5 years ago.

The price of WC53 carryalls has also gone out of sight. Looking at what Ruff and Ready is asking for some pretty rough and incomplete WC53s is out of sight. 10 to 20k for an empty banged up, cut up rusty shell is kind of out of this world. But then, Legacy's starting price is $235K for a carryall. I don't know what Dan M is getting for his carryall.

I looks as if collectors have found an "under priced" family of vehicles that was mostly in the hands of the common guy and drove the price through the roof. Now the common guy can hardly buy a beat up one. It was getting kind of hard for collectors to make much on the typical desirable muscle cars and trucks, so they found one that looked good and was previously passed over and went to town.

The availability of parts for the PW (fenders, bed parts and etc) has increased significantly and now builders can buy parts off the shelf and slap them on rather than hand building parts. This helps their profit margin and makes the PW builds more like their typical restoration where they order and slap on parts.
