The rear and front pumpkins. After all that's the reason dodge increased the rear diffs to a larger diameter diffs partly becuse of failure And to overcome extra torque the larger 9:00-16 tires.

Adding the torque from the low range would or could destroy a rear end under the right circumstances.

Would think a larger diameter rear chuck might be the next step if you installed a low range transfer?

Not being negatively at putting out there things to consider. I have destroyed spider gears in past 1/2 tons just driving them on pavement so I figure the design of the 8-3/4" isn't the strongest to begin with.
