The SRW 19.5" x 5.25" wheels that were sourced on Dodges through 1968 are either Budd #71410 / Dodge #1922398 having the 8 x 6.5" pattern and 1/2" offset, Budd #70740 / Dodge #1938165 having the 6 x 7.25" pattern and 1/2" of offset, or Budd #72720 / Dodge #1665419 having the 6 x 7.25" pattern and 3.5" of offset. All were spec'd for an 8-19.5" bias ply tire. They were also used by, or in the case of the 72720 appropriate for, Fords and Studebakers. They are highly sought after by other truck brand owners because they are the size equals of the 17" widow maker wheels used by the other manufacturers. Dodge guys are largely spared the widow maker Firestone RH-5° nightmares of the others.

Like said these are not ideal off road wheels, especially if radials are fitted. Matter of fact, period wheel catalogs all state that the Budd warranties were voided if radials were mounted. I have SAE literature showing radials transmit increased lateral loads to a rim over similarly sized bias ply tires. Rim fractures were a common problem in commercial service. Stu
