Paul, you mentioned the book weights of the 4 and 6 cylinder Cummins--do you or anyone know the combined weights of the old PW 230's with the original tranny attached?
When we pulled the combo out of an M37 parts truck, all that cast iron was almost more than the cheap Chinese engine hoist could handle. The kids in our HS automotive shop had the fattest kid stand on the back legs for ballest!
When you add all that along with a winch, it would seem a 4bt Cummins is easily in the same range.
