I have a little solid state "magic" charger that uses pulses over a 3 day cycle. It checks first to see if there's a short or broken connector inside, if so it displays a fault light and the battery is a reject. If you get a green light, it starts the "repair" cycle. Anyway however it works it's resurrected 3 batteries for me that would otherwise be junk.
