I did my 36' x 50' attached garage myself. 6 inches thick as you are planning. I do all my rebar 16" on center. At the time I did mine the owb dealer I got mine from had a product that came in rolls with a vapor barrier on both sides and was at least an inch thick. You taped the joints with metal duct work tape. UP against the outer walls I used 2 inch foam with cut 45 degree angles so there was no open seam. no weight there normally, so no issue for strength on edges.

I found a company that sold poly concrete chairs in any height you would want. they sat on the mat and the rebar snapped into them. Really nice and took the guess work out of it. I zip tied my pex to the side of the rebar in the middle.

One thing as you probably know. you want your runs the same length for even heating. What i did was draw a grid of the rebar and then cut equal lengths of string and lay it all out so you don't have cross overs and uneven heating. I also marked anywhere I was planning walls or holes being done to avoid punctures. Do your homework for lift position if that is in the cards.

Make completely sure your base is compacted solid if disturb and curtain drainage is overkill. you don't want water pressure from underneath.
