So California is going to make a bunch of people outlaws. Do you think that all the "bad" criminal element will register their guns that they illegally own as a convicted felon? What about all of the drug cartel and etc. do you think they are gong to comply?
The only thing that this law will do is get a registration of all the law abiding owners who little realize that their rights are being trampled on.
The problem is not guns per se. Chicago's problem is not guns, it a social break down of the family. The family has been replaced by gangs. The problem will not go away until the root cause is addressed which is not going to be easy as there are numerous social, economic, racial and spiritual issues.
If a person who wants to kill people, they will find a way. How about all the bombings around the world. Look at the truck attacks in Europe that have killed and injured many more people than most mass shooting. The problem is not guns, which are really an ineffective mass killing tool, it's people caught in social disintegration.
