I believe it has been proven that the numbers on assaults and massacres has not decreased, while terrorist attacks have increased. Better screening of potential and actual gun owners is needed instead. Confiscation of weapons only leads to an ill prepared Country in the case of war. Look at Switzerland, a neutral country. Mandatory 2 years military at 18 years of age, then reserve military for life. Government issued weapons to those that made the cut. Any war, terrorist attack, or other gun problems there?
