Those motors use around 1.5 KW or about 125 amps under load. That will suck down a battery in no time if the alternator isn't keeping up with it. Add in head lights, heater motor and other things running the blade up and down a lot will kill the battery. The plow trucks get set up with 150 to 200 amp alternators for commercial use.
