Yes you will probley burn up your wiring harness trying to run that load thru the original gauge. I think you should maybe pay a shop to do the wiring. If you happen to screw up it will cost you way more in damage done to the dash stuff. You need to buy a 100 amp rated gauge and use a shunt so it will read the load thru little wires going to the gauge. 100 amps can do a lot of damage not hooked up right. That link I gave you has the wiring diagrams to do this right.
