The Budd rims are made of high-strength Chrome-moly Steel much like the rest of the truck and welding is not a problem. If the cracks were larger, you would want to use E-7000 series rods, however these are small cracks and can be welded using E-6012, 13, or 24. You'll pick up enough alloy from the parent metal to produce the necessary tensile strength in the weld, just "V" the weld prior to welding. I've done it on a rim.

Your bigger problem are the shot seats on the rim dish, and that is what has caused the dish to crack in the first place. Welding the cracks and using the rims will result in more cracks if the seats are not fixed. You can look for a machine shop that can restore the seats or discuss with Vintage Power Wagon for a solution, I believe they restore seats as well, but you do need to get the problem fixed.

Before you decide to repair, check other areas of the rim that might have turned back to iron typical around the rivet areas. This results in thin parent metal that can over time cause the rim to crack. You have to determine if the rim is good enough overall to repair, and if not, discard.
