.. if you've thoughts of going to the Pertronix, which I personally often do myself, then there's no time like the present! In my opinion, Pertronix units have become quite reliable. The only ones that I've seen fail are Ignitor I. We're presently running at least three Ignitor IIs and one Ignitor III.
In the older vehicles, I like to stash a set of points & condenser in case we, or anybody running with us, ever have one fail. Fortunately, this hasn't happened yet.
