I'm also considering the merits of using this fitting. The only cons I've come up with is the cost of a quality tool needed to properly install the internal connectors and the need to run the heavier gage wires to feed the ammeter. I plan to use some heavy duty thermal/acoustical insulation on my firewall. This fitting will definitely isolate the engine from the cab.
I'm planning to use the Bussman weatherproof circuit breaker/fuse panel where the voltage regulator was.
